Titanium has a much lower thermal conductivity than steel, so the shims slow the transfer of heat from the pads and discs into the calipers.

Less heat in the calipers means less chance of the brake fluid overheating and the pedal fading during hard use, particularly on track. It also helps extend the life of caliper seals, and the shims help reduce brake squeal.

They are intended for road and track use and are a worthwhile addition when fitting new pads to a car that is driven hard.

Key Features

Grade 5 titanium (6Al-4V / ASTM B348)

0.5mm (0.02in) thick

Fits between the pads and the factory Akebono calipers

Reduces heat transfer into the calipers and brake fluid

Helps reduce brake fade and squeal

Suitable for road and track use

What's in the box

034Motorsport titanium brake pad shim kit for factory Akebono calipers

Product Details

Brand: 034 Motorsport

Manufacturer Part Number: 034-3ZZ-0008

Type: Brake Pad Shim Kit

Country of Origin: United States

Performance Part: Yes

Unit Quantity: 1 kit

Material: Grade 5 titanium (6Al-4V / ASTM B348)

Thickness: 0.5mm (0.02in)

Caliper: Factory Akebono

Vehicle Fitment

Manufacturer

Model

Engine/Platform

Year

Audi

S4 Saloon / Avant (B9, B9.5)

3.0 TFSI

2016-on

Audi

S5 Coupe / Sportback / Cabriolet (B9, B9.5)

3.0 TFSI

2016-on

Audi

SQ5 / SQ5 Sportback (FY)

3.0 TFSI

2016-on

Audi

RS5 Coupe / Sportback (B9, B9.5)

2.9 TFSI

2017-on

For cars with the factory Akebono front calipers only.
