The downpipe is significantly involved in the points of pull and performance. It is the link between the exhaust side of the turbocharger and the exhaust system. The larger the pipe diameter, the easier it is for the turbocharger to discharge the processed exhaust gases through the exhaust system. This has a positive effect on torque and power.

ATTENTION! All offered catalytic converters/catalytic converters, except the EC-tested catalytic converter of the company HJS, are not permitted in the field of road traffic regulations! Only with the EC catalytic converter you are allowed to move legally on public roads with your vehicle. The use of all other catalytic converters is intended for racing purposes only. If, despite our advice, you install a downpipe with a catalytic converter WITHOUT EC approval, you are liable to prosecution. Imminent consequences can include: expiry of the operating permit, decommissioning of the vehicle, notification of tax evasion, as well as possible investigations by the environmental authority.
Catalytic converter information
When selecting a downpipe without cat or with 100/200 cells cat, there may be an error message from the Nachkat lambda sensor in the control unit, which does not lead to restrictions in driving mode, since the first lambda sensor for the engine control is present. The post-cat probe is only responsible for monitoring the cat effect. This can be programmed out by adapting the software from a chip tuner.
For most vehicles up to Euro 3 emission standard, there is no aftercat probe and installation is possible without further adaptation and error message.
The washcoat content of HJS ECE and EOBD Kats is significantly higher and is characterized by a very high oxygen storage capacity, which avoids error messages. The EOBD Kats are tested for this topic up to Euro 4. Of course, the durability and use up to the Euro 6 emission standard is given.
For Euro 5/6 vehicles, the above points can only be avoided if a cat is made with an ECE selection.
